About Rice Memorial
We are a small but growing church with a strong community of all ages. We gather to worship together every Sunday at 11am. Our services are traditional and Christ centered. We sing mostly hymns and time-tested spiritual songs with piano and guitar. Pastors Steve and John preach expository sermons from the Bible. Our theology and practice would be considered conservative and reformed, because we believe that we are to align ourselves with God's principles as given to us in the scriptures. When you attend Rice, come as you feel most comfortable, casually or more formally dressed, and expect to be warmly greeted. You will see Christ lifted up in our song, prayer and preaching and experience a community that encourages each other in our faith and in our daily lives.
We also have a Brazilian Ministry at Rice with Portuguese services every Sunday.
Rice Memorial Baptist Church is a Southern Baptist church. However, we are autonomous and the church 'governs' itself under the authority of God's word, the Bible. We support our denominational ministries with a portion of our regular offerings. This helps us to support ministries well beyond what we can do on our own. This is one of the strengths of belonging to a global ministry. The Southern Baptists have missionaries all over the world and all over our country. It's a privilege and a blessing to be able to support them financially and prayerfully.
